Gambia’s top forward Babucarr Trawally leaves AFCON under controversy

Gambia’s 2021 AFCON team will compete for the remainder of the tournament without one of its members following the departure of striker Steve Bubacarr Trawally. Steve left for further treatment at his club Ajman in the United Arab Emirates because of a reported ankle injury and wished the Scorpions team well for the remainder of the competition, but Gambian supporters and media are questioning the timing and circumstances as reported by Radio France Internationale.
