Senegal’s Minister of Sports revealed that multiple countries had requested to play their home fixtures at the brand new Diamniadio Olympic Stadium, which made its competitive debut with Senegal’s home leg against Egypt in 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying. After not naming the specific nations who had made the request, Senegalese media discovered three of the countries to be Gambia, Guinea-Bissau and Liberia. All three national teams will be forced to play home matches outside of their country due to having stadiums not suitable by CAF standards, which includes a lengthy list of African national sides.
