Major League Soccer club FC Cincinnati have acquired two young African talents on loan to compete for the American side’s reserve team in the newly created MLS Next Pro league this season. Hearts of Oak defensive midfielder Salim Adams will arrive from the reigning Ghanaian champions after a productive season in the Ghana Premier League, making 22 appearances and scoring 2 goals for the Phobians as well as appearing in their CAF Champions League campaign.
Musa Ramathan is a physically imposing Ugandan defender who arrives from Czech second tier side MFK Vyškov on loan as well. Ramathan made over 23 appearances for top Ugandan club KCCA FC and boosted his name with six appearances in Uganda’s run to the final at the 2021 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in Mauritania.
Both players have purchase options on their loans and will compete for FC Cincinnati 2 this season, who have one win and four defeats so far in their inaugural MLS Next Pro campaign.
