In the penultimate weekend for American league Major League Soccer, the final regular season matches are of the utmost importance as teams attempt to clinch spots in the playoffs but for Los Angeles FC the priority was gaining points to clinch the Supporters Shield as the club with the most points. Gabon national team star Denis Bouanga chose an excellent time to score his first goal for the club since joining in the summer transfer window, producing a slick dribbling move before his goal helped LAFC win on the road at Portland Timbers on Sunday. The goal helps LAFC win the Supporters Shield for the second consecutive season and secures their spot in next season’s CONCACAF Champions League.
Check out Bouanga’s massive goal as well as another match-winner from an African forward as Nigerian striker William Agada, another summer signing, continued his excellent form for Sporting Kansas City in their win over Seattle Sounders.
