Bechem United goalkeeper Abdulai Iddrisu set for transfer to Azam FC in Tanzania

Bechem United and Ghana domestic-based national team goalkeeper Abdulai Iddrisu is on the move after he was sighted in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania to finalize the details for a transfer to Ligi Kuu Tanzania Bara side Azam FC. Iddrisu was set to participate with Ghana at the 2022 African Nations Championship (CHAN) as the team’s backup keeper but the 25-year-old is no longer eligible to play in Algeria due to his transfer out of Ghanaian club football.

Iddrisu distinguished himself last season for Bechem, playing an important role as the Hunters finished in third position during the 2021-22 Ghana Premier League season, conceding 18 goals in 31 matches on his way to winning Best Goalkeeper at the 2022 Ghana Football Awards. The shot stopper arrives at a club that continues in their attempts to break into the top-2 past dominant Tanzanian clubs Simba SC and Young Africans. The Ice Cream Makers are currently in third position on the league table with 40 points through 19 matches.
