All but one of the eight teams are confirmed to advance to the Championship Stage of the 2022-23 Tunisia Ligue 1 Professionnelle following Sunday’s full slate of matches. Four teams from Group B have clinched their spots and US Ben Guerdane seized top spot in the group with a 1-0 victory at US Monastir. League top scorer Rafik Kamergi scored his eleventh goal of the season close to the hour mark to make the difference as both teams are tied with 26 points each. USBG and USM will be joined by Olympique Beja and Club Africain in the Championship Round.
In Group A there were draws for famous Tunisian clubs Espérance ST and Étoile du Sahel. EST appeared to have a win secured but US Tataouine’s Makhmouth Diallo scored twice in the final twenty minutes to steal a point in the 2-2 draw. ESS were held to a scoreless draw by CS Chebba, keeping Chebba’s hopes alive as the last placed team in Group A look to avoid the automatic relegation spot. Four teams are competing for fourth place in Group A with one more match to go including CS Sfaxien and Stade Tunisien.
