Burkina Faso U-20 international Mohamed Ouédraogo moves abroad to sign with Austrian club Altach

Burkina Faso under-20 international Mohamed Ouédraogo is off to Austria to complete a transfer to Austrian Bundesliga club SC Rheindorf Altach, Pan-Africa Football can confirm. The 20-year-old left back will be leaving from Dakar, Senegal to Austria on Wednesday evening to finalize his move from Ouagadougou-based Burkinabè Première Division club SC Majestic.

Upon joining Altach, Mohamed will join up with the club’s reserve team which is currently competing in the Austrian third division Regionalliga West with plans to promote him to the senior team after a brief period of integration. Altach, managed by former German national team striker Miroslav Klose, are currently in tenth position in the 12-team Austrian Bundesliga.

Ouédraogo arrives after two successful seasons with Sporting Club Majestic where he scored eight goals in forty appearances for the club, who finished the 2021-22 Burkinabè Première Division (known as the Ligue 1 LONAB) season in second position. The young defender developed at Académie Foot Plus alongside current AFC Bournemouth and Burkina Faso senior national team star Dango Ouattara before being promoted to Majestic, a club that is owned by President Amado Traoré who also operates Académie Foot Plus.

The new arrival at Altach is a defender who thrives when he gets forward to support the attack with highly developed crossing ability and skill on set pieces. Ouédraogo led Majestic with six goals during their 2021-22 Ligue 1 LONAB campaign as the club came to within a point of winning Burkina Faso’s top division. Below are pictures of Mohamed at the airport as well as from his time with the under-20 national team of Burkina Faso.
