Al Ahly are in peak form at the moment as the Red Devils continued their undefeated domestic campaign on Monday in the Egyptian Premier League with a 2-0 victory away from home against Alexandria’s Smouha SC. Ahly right back Mohamed Hany was involved in both goals, providing a cross in the 28th minute that found Mohamed Sherif for an excellent curled finish to give the visitors the lead by halftime. Hany’s forward run in the 66th minute set up forward Kahraba for Ahly’s second goal and kept the Cairo club comfortably ahead of closest competitors Future FC.
In Monday’s other match, Zamalek conceded a late goal to share the spoils in a 2-2 result against visiting Arab Contractors. John Okoli gave the visitors the lead before Zamalek playmaker Zizo equalized for the hosts to leave the teams equal by halftime. Mostafa Shalaby’s penalty kick gave Zamalek the lead close to the hour mark but supporters of the White Castle would leave the Cairo International Stadium disappointed after central defender Hossam Abdelmajeed failed to deal with a pass into the Zamalek penalty area and Fady Farid finished past goalkeeper Mohamed Sobhi for a leveler in stoppage time.
Zamalek remain in fourth place, thirteen points back of Ahly following Monday’s result. Video of the goals from both of Monday’s matches are below.
