The end of the transfer window continues to close in and just before the chaos of the final days, Pan-Africa Football has the latest transfers involving African players over the last week. Ghana national team playmaker Mohammed Kudus headlines the latest list with a big transfer to English Premier League club West Ham United. For Kudus his transfer from Dutch giants Ajax to English football comes after being the subject of plenty of rumors over the past year concerning his next destination. The 23-year-old completed his move at the end of last weekend for a large fee of around €43 million and will join a talented West Ham attack that features plenty of competition for playing time. The Right to Dream Academy product ends his spell at Ajax after four seasons with 27 goals and 10 assists in 87 appearances.
Kudus is joined by young talents Carlos Baleba and Farès Chaïbi as the young talents who moved for large fees. Cameroonian midfielder Baleba broke through into the first team at Ligue 1 club LOSC Lille last season and the 19-year-old now joins Kudus in England after completing a €27 million to Brighton & Hove Albion. Chaïbi, a 20-year-old born in France who debuted for Algeria in March this year, is off to Germany with Eintracht Frankfurt after a transfer was announced today.
Two more notable Algerians who participated at the 2022 African Nations Championship (CHAN) completed moves. The star of the CHAN runners-up, midfielder Houssem Eddine Mrezigue, will try his luck in Europe with a loan move with an option to buy for Portuguese Primeira Liga side Vizela after finding great success with dominant Algerian club CR Belouizdad. Ahmed Kendouci, another midfielder who moved to Egyptian titans Al Ahly last season, is now on loan to fellow Egyptian club Ceramica Cleopatra for this season after struggling to find regular playing time at Ahly.
