It appeared that after taking the recent international break off, the Zimbabwe national team and manager Zdravko Logarusic would be using the upcoming COSAFA Cup to make final adjustments to the Warriors side before World Cup qualifying takes place later on in the year. However, after announcing a promising provisional squad, the final squad list of players include largely domestic-based players and only a fraction of the players originally listed in the provisional squad.
