A Guinean midfielder leaves AS Roma while another Guinean midfielder joins

One Guinea national team midfielder’s departure was confirmed while another’s arrival is also official this week with Amadou Diawara off to Belgian football and Mady Camara in on loan to Serie A club AS Roma. The 25-year-old Diawara will be joining Anderlecht with the defensive midfielder moving for a fee that has been reported at €1.5 million with a 50% share of any future transfer. Diawara ends a spell of over seven years in Italy where he made 127 appearances in Serie A with Bologna, Napoli and Roma since turning professional at third tier side San Marino during the 2014-15 season.

Meanwhile, Roma have brought in the physically imposing Camara on loan from Greek champions Olympiakos for manager José Mourinho to fortify his midfield. Also 25-years-old, Camara joins for a loan fee of $1.65 million and Roma will have the option to make the transfer permanent. Camara made 181 appearances and accumulated 19 goals and 13 assists across all competitions over five seasons for Olympiakos, winning the Greek Super League for the last three seasons running.
