When Mauritania hired the coach behind Comoros’ surprise qualification to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations and run to the knockout stage, Amir Abdou, it seemed like a great fit considering the 49-year-old had spent time managing in the West African country’s domestic league. CAF Online speaks to Abdou following the wins and the coach discusses some of the promising players he sees within the squad as well as what his team needs to improve moving forward.
