The Rwanda national team produces promising results in competitions such as the African Nations Championship with its domestic-based players, but the Amavubi have failed to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations since their maiden appearance in 2004. After parting ways with manager Vincent Mashami following a couple of disappointing qualifying campaigns for the AFCON and FIFA World Cup, former Rwanda national team player Eric Murangwa is advocating for a firm plan to help Amavubi improve their preparations for future attempts including locating young talent with links to the country in Europe.
