Rwanda’s Army club Armée Patriotique Rwandaise Football Club (APR FC) clinched the Rwanda Premier League title with ease on Friday with a comfortable 6-0 victory over Rutsiro, their seventh league title in the last ten seasons. Two first half goals from Yannick Bizimane put the Igikona well on their way before a four-goal second half finished the job with emphasis. Title rivals AS Kigali also secured a victory, winning 2-0 against Police FC but it was not nearly enough to overtake APR FC on goal differential, the tiebreaker used after both teams were tied on points.
APR FC will now represent Rwanda in next season’s CAF Champions League with their capture of the crown. Highlights of the 6-0 victory are below.
