AS Kigali did not find their breakthrough until the second-half but managed to prevail 2-0 over a stubborn Police FC side on Wednesday in Rwanda Premier League action. Shabani Hussein opened the scoring for AS Kigali in the 66th minute when he jumped highest to head in a well delivered long throw-in. Another header wrapped up the three points for the capital side in the 78th minute courtesy of Abeddy Biramahire to preserve AS Kigali’s perfect record so far since the league resumed. AS currently sit on top of Group C, equal on points with Musanze, who defeated Etincelles 3-1.
In the other three matches from the day, Marines FC and Espoir FC established themselves as the clear favorites to advance to the league’s knockout tournament round out of Group D. Marines took down Sunrise FC 1-0 while Espoir triumphed 3-1 over Mukura Victory Sports.
