Reigning Ghana Premier League champions Asante Kotoko announced a two-week training camp in Turkey from August 15 to August 30 in preparation for the 2022-23 Ghana Premier League season. The Porcupine Warriors will play friendlies against clubs in the country ahead of the start of their CAF Champions League participation followed by the start of the domestic league season in September. Kotoko are still sorting out who will lead the team following Prosper Ogum’s resignation with reports still varying in all sorts of directions about whether he will be with the club for the upcoming season.
In other news completed a move to bring in Ugandan striker Steven Mukwala this week with the former Uganda Revenue Authority player agreeing to a two-year contract. The 23-year-old marksman scored 27 goals in 50 appearances for URA SC over the last two Uganda Premier League seasons after spending time with Vipers SC and Maroons SC. With rumors of Cameroonian star from last season Franck Mbella Etouga being set for an impending transfer to Italy’s Udinese, Mukwala will arrive with hopes he can play a part in making up for the departure of last season’s league top scorer.
