Augustin Senghor réélu à la tête de la Fédération sénégalaise de football

Incumbent Senegalese Football Federation president Augustin Senghor maintained his position following a general assembly vote carried out in the country, defeating opponent and Génération Foot president Mady Touré by a substantial margin of 326 votes to Touré’s 123 on Saturday. Touré and his team accepted the results and acknowledged their respect for Senghor’s victory. It will be the fourth consecutive term for Senghor as head of Senegalese football, and the administrator reacted by stating he was ready to continue his work towards goals such as helping the national team gain success at the Africa Cup of Nations, qualify for the FIFA World Cup, develop youth and women’s football and eventually obtain the rights for Senegal to host an Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

For French speakers, Senegalese journalist Salif Diallo responds to the re-election of Senghor in a video from DakarActu, stating his wish for reform in Senegalese football leadership and expressing his hopes that Senghor is listening to the criticism of his opponents.
