An experimental South Africa national team that featured many young players and debutants overcame a first half 1-0 deficit to defeat Uganda 3-2 in Johannesburg on Thursday. Ibrahim Orit’s excellent headed goal opened the scoring for the Cranes in the 17th minute but Bafana Bafana regrouped and surged into the lead with three goals in a 20-minute span in the second half, two of them being scored in a dream debut for Baroka FC forward Evidence Makgopa. Bongkuhle Hlongwane also scored on his debut for South Africa before Lumala Abdu tallied a late consolation for Uganda.
