A noticeable gap separates the top-3 in Tanzania’s top division from the rest of the pack and the remaining two sides in the top-5, Biashara Mara United and this season’s CAF Confederation Cup participants Namungo, did not close the gap too much following their 1-1 draw. Both goals came in the opening five minutes before a stalemate ensued for the remainder of the 90 minutes. A long ball and cross led to disastrous defending by hosts Biashara Mara United as the Stephen Sey cross was deflected before the United keeper could only parry the ball into his own goal. Denis Nkane aided Biashara United’s immediate response by heading home a hard hit cross from the right flank to equalize.
