Malawi’s domestic season kicked off over the weekend with the country’s Charity Shield taking place in Blantyre, and powerhouse club Nyasa Big Bullets came out with a narrow 1-0 victory over Silver Strikers to claim yet another trophy. The 2020-21 Super League of Malawi champions decided to use a less than full strength side featuring younger players but the team still put out a solid performance to take down last season’s league runners-up. New center back signing Hadji Wali, brought in from Silver Strikers, started his spell at Big Bullets in dream fashion by heading in a 36th minute Patrick Mwaungulu corner kick to scorch the team he represented last season.
A match report is below from Nyasa Times and highlights from the YouTube channel of Big Bullets are further down.
