The fourth round is complete in Morocco’s Botola Pro and defending champions ASFAR are co-leaders with RS Berkane following action over the weekend and on Monday. The Royal Army club based in Rabat dominated away from home to earn a 3-0 victory over Mouloudia Oujda on Monday leaving them on ten points. Ahmed Hammoudan (pictured above) opened the scoring before a penalty kick from Mohamed Hrimat doubled the lead and substitute Lamine Diakité completed the victory in the second half.
Berkane and the African club champions of the 2021-22 season, Wydad AC, met on Sunday in a clash that usually provides plenty of drama and headlines. A red card towards the end of the first half to RSB midfielder Adil Tahif left the hosts on the defensive but the Wydad attack continued its struggles in a 0-0 draw. With the exception of a 3-2 victory at Chabab Mohammédia at the beginning of September, Wydad have only scored two goals in four matches this season.
Raja CA continue to show signs of improvement under head coach Josef Zinnbauer following a poor 2022-23 season. The Green Eagles defeated Union Touarga by a 1-0 score at home with Algerian forward Yousri Bouzok scoring the only goal. Bouzok applied a headed finish to a hard cross from Naoufel Zerhouni in the 84th minute to give the home supporters three points to celebrate.
