The search for a new manager to lead the Rwanda national team is complete after Spaniard Carlos Alós Ferrer signed on as coach of the Amavubi on Tuesday. The 46-year-old declared his excitement to get started on social media and the Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) announced that he will be assisted by two coaches, one of his own choosing and one that FERWAFA selects.
Alós, a former goalkeeper in his playing days, last managed in Cypriot football with Enosis Neon Paralimni and has plenty of experience managing club teams in Qatar, Poland, Morocco and in Kazakhstan along with a spell as manager of the Kazakhstan under-17 side. FERWAFA stated that all the applicants for the post were foreign coaches with no local coaches submitting applications.
