An excellent season with FC St. Pauli in the 2. Bundesliga has led to Daniel-Kofi Kyereh moving clubs to Germany’s top tier. The 26-year-old completed a transfer to SC Freiburg for a reported €4.5 million fee after Kyereh accumulated 13 goals and 9 assists over 32 appearances in all competitions this season for St. Pauli. Freiburg CEO Jochen Saier highlighted Kyereh’s creativity and his reading of the game as the attributes that attracted the club and now the playmaker has an opportunity to help Freiburg in the Bundesliga as well as in the UEFA Europa League following a 6th place finish last season.
The German-born Kyereh made his debut for the Ghana national team in September against Ethiopia during the Black Stars’ successful 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign. He has made twelve appearances for Ghana and featured in all three matches at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year.
