DStv Premiership: Stellenbosch continue positive momentum, new signing Ighodaro fires SuperSport to victory

The DStv Premiership continued on with its third matchday on Friday and there were victories to celebrate for supporters of Stellenbosch FC and SuperSport United. Stellenbosch bounced back from a halftime deficit in impressive fashion with three goals in the second half to win at Royal AM. Dean van Rooyen struck early after halftime before goals from Jayden Adams and Iqraam Rayners confirmed victory for the Stellies.

SuperSport needed to dig deep against Cape Town City, a club known for grinding out results. Gavin Hunt’s side seized the initiative at home but were held scoreless by halftime before Nigerian striker Etiosa Ighodaro stole the show. The player on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns found the net soon after the hour mark to give the Pretoria side their second victory of the season.
