Guinea-Bissau international defender Fernandy Mendy took a less traveled path compared to other African footballers but is finding success in Scottish football with Raith Rovers. The Senegalese born 27-year-old joined Rovers after time spent in the lower leagues of France and following a loan spell in the Scottish fifth-tier, Mendy has established himself as a regular at Raith. Africa Top Sports reports that Mendy could not quite help the club achieve its goal of promotion to the Scottish Premier League, but finding steady playing time will give him plenty of confidence heading into next season.
