New Egypt national team coach Ehab Galal announced a 44-player provisional squad for the Pharaohs’ opening 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Guinea and Ethiopia in early June. Egypt square off against Guinea in Cairo on June 2 before traveling to Lilongwe, Malawi for their road fixture against Ethiopia a week later.
The usual contributors for the Pharaohs are set to be involved including Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah as well as Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny and striker Mostafa Mohamed. As expected Galal has numerous players in his team from Egyptian powerhouses Al Ahly, Zamalek and his former club Pyramids FC. Ahly winger Ahmed Abdelkader in particular has been rewarded for an excellent season with the opportunity to make his first appearance in an Egypt shirt. Check out the full list below.
