Cameroonian football will now be led by one of its legends after Samuel Eto’o captured the presidency of the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT) on Saturday. The 40-year-old, known for his illustrious playing career as a forward for FC Barcelona and Inter Milan at club level and as the all-time leading scorer for Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions, is promising reform in Cameroonian football and has wasted no time in emphasizing how things will be different under him. Eto’o replaces Seidou Mbombo Njoya as president and has his work cut out for him at FECAFOOT, which has required the intervention of FIFA in recent times due to corruption.
