Fasil Kenema extend lead to 11 points in Ethiopian Premier League, Adama City fall further adrift at the bottom

The last two days of play in the Ethiopian Premier League has seen the top and bottom teams extend their distances from the rest of the table. Fasil Kenema took advantage of the two teams below them drawing to gain two points, winning 2-0 against Wolaitta to extend their league lead to eleven points. In an exciting race for the league’s top goalscorer, Fasil’s Mujib Kassim’s boosted his total with two goals to make it seventeen on the season. Kassim’s strikes in the 32nd and 76th minutes were both clinical strikes for the 25-year-old.

On the other end of the table Adama City’s woes continue. With Jimma Aba Jifar doing well to move themselves out of the bottom spot, Adama City have only won one of their last thirteen games and lost 3-0 against Sidama Coffee on Friday to drop their seventh straight. All the goals came in the first-half for the Tigers thanks to hapless defending and goalkeeping from the visitors. The win is vital for Sidama in their hopes to escape the drop as they are now two points from moving out of the relegation zone.

SuperSport has a match report for Fasil’s victory and highlights for both matches are below.
