All the circumstances are against South Africa heading into their Summer Olympics opener at the Men’s Football tournament against hosts Japan on Thursday with only one training session for the team to build chemistry. Due to positive Covid-19 tests to a few members of the team, Bafana Bafana have been locked up in quarantine and only 17 players in the squad will be available for coach David Notoane to choose from. However, Notoane kept his comments as optimistic as possible, expressing that he was grateful the team will be allowed to compete rather than having their campaign cancelled and stating his team believe they have a chance to get a positive result despite the setbacks.
