August is set to be a highly-anticipated month for Ugandan football fans and administrators when the election for president of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) takes place on August 21. Current president Moses Magogo has not endeared himself to Ugandan fans due to his dismissive treatment of the national team following their elimination from qualifying for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations and the subsequent retirement of longtime starting goalkeeper and captain Denis Onyango. Candidates will be submitted to the Ordinary and Elective Assembly, a group that includes 88 members who will determine the next president of FUFA.
The Daily Monitor has more on the key decisions made by Uganda’s footballing authorities surrounding the election and upcoming competition news for Uganda’s national teams.
