Gambia’s winning exhibition run comes to an end with loss to Kosovo

The Scorpions of Gambia suffered a defeat to wrap up their international break by dropping a 1-0 result to Kosovo on Friday. In a match of two halves, Gambia struggled to get going in the first half, making it to halftime with a 0-0 score but failing to take advantage of opportunities in the second period while conceding an excellent finish from Kosovo forward Arber Hoxha.

Hoxha’s goal came in the 80th minute when he did brilliantly to slip by two Scorpion defenders before firing an unstoppable shot from a tight angle that beat Gambian keeper Sheikh Sibi and rattled in off the crossbar. A few minutes later Gambia had a golden chance to equalize when Kosovo fouled in their penalty area, leading to a penalty kick. However, Bologna FC forward Musa Barrow got it all wrong by going for power and sending his spot kick far over the bar.

Video of the two important late moments are below.
