Ghana Premier League: Hearts of Oak and Great Olympics draw in Accra’s Ga Mantse Derby, Medeama and Dreams remain perfect

Accra Hearts of Oak supporters continued to be frustrated with their side as the Phobians collected a draw in their second match of the season, but it could have been worse in Sunday’s local derby against Accra Great Olympics.  Offseason signing Konadu Yiadom bailed his new club out with an excellent header to level the match late on and spare the blushes of Hearts at the Accra Sports Stadium. Great Olympics took the lead in the opening ten minutes courtesy of a disastrous sequence from Hearts where their poor attempt to pass out of the back resulted in Yusif Abdul-Razak’s opportunistic goal.

Dreams FC, Aduana Stars and Medeama SC are the teams who are perfect through two games. Dreams edged promoted side Kotoku Royals thanks to Huzaf Ali’s 71st minute goal while Medeama rallied with two goals in the final twenty minutes to defeat Real Tamale United 3-2 at home. Nsoatreman FC marked their Ghana Premier League debut with a 1-0 shutout of Bibiani Gold Stars and Aduana Stars edged King Faisal in the Ashanti Region on Monday.
