Ghana’s Kurt Okraku named new Wafu B President

Following the early departure of incumbent president and Nigerien Football Federation leader Djibrilla Hima Hamidou, Ghana Football Association president Kurt Okraku was unanimously approved as the new president of the West African Football Union in Zone B. Okraku stood unopposed and will serve out the remainder of Hamidou’s mandated term, which runs until 2022. Representatives from member nations Cote d’Ivoire, Benin, Togo, Niger, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, and host Ghana were present for Okraku’s election and the new president announced his intent to work with all members in a region that contains some of Africa’s most prominent footballing nations.
