Injuries, illness force four players to withdraw from Ivory Coast squad

Ahead of Ivory Coast’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations matchup against Zambia on Friday, four players had to leave the Elephants camp due to injury or illness and will not be available for both the Zambia matchup as well as next Thursday’s clash against Lesotho. Center backs Eric Bailly and Odilon Kossounou as well as attacking players Maxwell Cornet and Nicolas Pépé join full back Hassane Kamara as being unavailable for action during the international break.

Ivory Coast manager Jean-Louis Gasset called up three players to add to the squad with KAS Eupen center back Emmanuel Agbadou, Red Bull Salzburg’s Oumar Diakité and ASEC Mimosas midfielder Yao Kouassi Attohoula stepping in.
