South African domestic football’s curtain raiser took place on Sunday with the Carling Black Label Cup featuring a Soweto Derby to start off the club football season in the country. Kaizer Chiefs prevailed 4-3 on penalty kicks following a 0-0 draw in normal time against rivals Orlando Pirates as substitute goalkeeper Brylon Petersen made the important saves in the shootout to help Chiefs to the victory.
