The top sides in the Uganda Premier League returned to action on Friday with Vipers and KCCA FC scoring victories. Following the sacking of long time coach Mike Mutebi, KCCA won 3-0 on coach Morley Byekwaso’s debut match in charge over BUL FC but the new coach was not fully convinced by his team’s effort. In comments reported by Football256, Byekwaso admitted that the visitors had a decent chance to steal points but fortunately the Garbage Collectors took their opportunities.
Vipers SC moved into the top spot for now with an impressive 3-0 road victory over Army side UPDF. Congolese forward Cesar Manzoki continued his solid form by scoring his 6th and 7th goals of the season to go along with a Paul Mucureezi penalty kick. Vipers are league leaders by way of goal differential but URA SC have yet to play their game this weekend.
In the other games Wakiso Giants moved a little close to the relegation zone with their 1-2 home defeat to Mbarara City while Bright Stars defeated hapless Airtel Kitara 3-1 to move into ninth place. Match reports are available for three of the games with highlights of KCCA’s victory over BUL.
