Express FC rode an excellent first-half performance to a 3-1 victory over the Tax Collectors of URA SC in Uganda Premier League action on Saturday. The win for the hosts makes the UPL title race a bit more complex following the conclusion of the league’s weekend, with Express moving up to within a point of URA and defending champions Vipers SC at the top.
Godfrey Lwesibawa tallied his sixth goal of the season to get the scoring started in the tenth minute with a header before Eric Kambale contributed a headed goal of his own eight minutes later. Kambale converted a penalty kick to make it 3-0 in favor of Express by halftime. Uganda Cranes international Murushid Juuko was sent off for a second yellow card early in the second-half but Express only allowed one goal from a penalty kick to hold on for the valuable win.
