A red card in each half did not help Mali’s cause as they suffered a 1-0 friendly defeat to Tunisia to wrap up both teams’ international breaks. Two yellow cards in ten minutes saw 19-year-old Malian striker El Bilal Touré sent off before 33 minutes were up in a first half with few opportunities for either side. Tunisia turned up the urgency a bit after the halftime break and an extended spell of corner kicks and buildup resulted in Anis Ben Slimane’s third international goal, the 20-year-old Brondby player unleashing a hard strike past keeper Mohamed Niare. Boubacar Kouyate received his second yellow card late in second half stoppage time to put Mali down two players.
