Laba double leads Togo to 2-0 friendly victory over Guinea

A goal in each half from Kodjo Fo-Doh Laba made the difference as Togo took down Guinea in a friendly match on Saturday, 2-0. Impulsive defending from the Guineans in the 8th minute led to a hasty challenge in the penalty area and the 29-year-old Al Ain striker sent Guinea keeper Moussa Camara the wrong way to open the scoring.

The Togolese looked invigorated after a disastrous Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign and Didier Six’s charges could have won by more with more efficient finishing. However, they did not need the extra goals as Laba was more than willing to finish the job by completing his brace late on. Laba dribbled the ball on the edge of the penalty box and surged out wide towards the end line before blasting a stunning shot that overwhelmed keeper Camara and beat him at his near post into the roof of the net.
