Yet again, Stade Malien are the champions of Mali’s top division, the Ligue 1 Orange Mali, for the 2020-21 season. Les Blancs have now captured the Première Division for the sixth consecutive season played, having already clinched the championship stage of the season before Sunday’s 0-0 draw against Djoliba wrapped up the season. A brief video of the team’s coronation ceremony is below the links.
Stade Malien also captured the country’s domestic cup competition this season, making it a double. Malijet reports that due to the team’s occupation of Mali’s designated CAF Champions League spot, Binga FC will take the CAF Confederation Cup spot by virtue of being the cup runner-up once the submissions are certified by CAF.
