In a top of the table league clash on Friday, Malawian top club Big Bullets emerged with a 2-1 comeback victory over Silver Strikers to boost their lead at the top of the Malawi Super League to four points. Now with a game still to make up on Strikers, Big Bullets have the upper hand in the chase for the league crown in the final stretch of the season.
Silver Strikers delivered what looked to be an important goal when they opened the scoring just before halftime through Helbert Wayekha despite sustained dominance from the hosts. However, Chimwemwe Idana, who participated for Malawi in the recent 2021 COSAFA Cup, equalized only several minutes into the second half before Patrick Phiri came up with the crucial winner less than ten minutes from full time.
