The title race in the Zambia Super League is settled at this point with ZESCO having clinched the top spot, but the relegation battle is at its peak currently. Last year’s league champions, Nkana FC, are in serious danger of falling down the relegation trap door but scored a crucial equalizer in the dying seconds of their clash against second-placed Zanaco to gain a point that could be crucial with two games to go. Nkana are one spot away from getting out of the drop zone with only goal differential separating them from Indeni, who occupy the final safe spot.
Zanaco looked to have the win secured when Baba Basile located an excellent header from a cross into the corner of the Nkana goal. However, in the final minute of stoppage time the team known as Kalampa continued to fight and a long throw-in from the left wing found Alex Ngonga. While holding off a defender Ngonga reached his right foot up and redirected the throw-in with the outside of his foot past the Zanaco keeper.
