An overwhelming downpour of rain in Abia State led to the postponement of Wednesday’s Nigeria Professional Football League match between Abia Warriors and Enyimba, but Enyimba managed to score in the difficult conditions before the match was finished up on Thursday morning. A pass into the Abia Warriors penalty area was tackled right into the path of Vincent Mbaoma, who was waiting in the middle of the box to collect and slot his finish past Warriors keeper Vincent Edafe for his sixth goal of the league season. The Peoples’ Elephant went on to hold off the hosts for the remainder of the match on Thursday for three points to put them back in the midst of the title race.
