Cairo-based power club Zamalek clinched advancement to the Egypt Cup semifinals with a 2-0 victory over Misr Lel Makkasa at the Cairo International Stadium on Tuesday courtesy of two second half goals from Youssef Ibrahim Obama. After a first half that featured opportunities for both sides and an energetic start from visitors Misr Lel Makkasa, Zamalek took control early after the halftime break. Obama’s opener came in the 57th minute when veteran left back Mohamed Abdel-Shafi crossed in and Tunisian forward Seifeddine Jaziri chested the ball down for Obama to finish with an excellent half volley.
Abdel-Shafi was at it again four minutes later by putting in another excellent cross for Obama to head past visiting keeper Hamdi Mahmoud, clinching the victory for the hosts. Ahram has a match report in the link below and highlights starting with Obama’s first goal are further down.
