Harambee Starlets head coach Beldine Odemba has named a 23-player squad for the second leg of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifier against Tunisia.
The decisive match is set to take place on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, 4 pm EAT, at the Stade Olympique de Sousse in Tunis, Tunisia. The first leg in Nairobi ended in a 0-0 draw and Kenya will be seeking a win to reach the next stage.
Should Harambee Starlets advance, they will face the winner between Niger and Gambia—bringing them one step closer to securing a spot in the 2026 WAFCON, which would mark their second appearance in the tournament in a decade.
After the first leg, coach Odemba remained confident of grinding out a positive result in Tunis during the return leg. “We played well and were very tactical in our approach. We created numerous chances, especially from the wings, but we couldn’t capitalise on them.
“When we go to Tunisia, it will be a different game. We will review this match to assess what worked and what we need to improve for the second leg,” Odemba told reporters.
Odemba’s sentiments were echoed by midfielder Corazon Aquino, who said: “I think we controlled most of the game, but luck wasn’t on our side in converting chances. We’ve identified our weaknesses and still have time to make adjustments. Our focus now is on improving our finishing before the second leg.”
