After losing 2-0 to South Africa in their matchday five fixture of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers, Lesotho head coach Leslie Notsi has promised an attack-minded approach when they face Rwanda in the same qualifier at Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, on Tuesday.
Likuena displayed a more solid performance against COSAFA neghbours Bafana but after protecting their goal for the first 45 minutes, they were undone in the second period as two goals from Relebohile Mofokeng and Jayden Adams ended their resistance.
Ahead of their fixture against Amavubi, coach Notsi is confident they can get a positive result if they manage to sharpen their attacking area and attack Rwanda from the onset. Rwanda will be heading into the fixture having lost 2-0 against Nigeria courtesy of a brace from Victor Osimhen.
“We have to be more attack-minded because we have played Rwanda before so now we know what to expect so it's not like a closed book like before so like the question that I was asked earlier with the five points difference, so we need to see to it that we get into the mix in terms of points,” said Notsi as quoted by SABC Sports.
“So, we've got nothing to lose, all we need to do is now take the game to our hosts on Tuesday and that's how we're going to approach the match.”
The defeat against Bafana left Likuena lying fifth in Group C with five points, while Rwanda remained on seven points and in second place despite the defeat against the Super Eagles.
