Head coach of Ghana, Otto Addo has admitted that, there is a lot of work to be done despite the big win against Chad in game five of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The Black Stars whitewashed Chad by 5-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21 to go top of Group I on 12 points, two better than Madagascar who they will next face on Monday, March 24 in Morocco.
Head coach of the four time African champions, Otto Addo shared some ahead of the game.
“The most important thing is that, I know everybody is excited, everybody was excited about our last win but we still have a long way to go and we need everyone to be on their toes.
“We don’t need ninety-eight percent, ninety-nine percent, we need one hundred percent, this is like a small final and if we win this game then we are really going towards qualifying.
“But it is going to be very tough, we have observed the Madagascar team and they have done really well especially in the last game so it’s going to be a tough game.”
Ghana needs all three points to stretch their lead ahead of the remaining four qualifiers in September. The four time World Cup participants missed out on the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco and will use the World Cup qualifiers to redeem their image.
