Cameroon coach Marc Brys revealed the latest Indomitable Lions squad on Thursday ahead of 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Eswatini and Libya in March.

The Indomitable Lions are looking to strengthen their grip on top spot in Group D where they lead with eight points, one point ahead of Libya and Cape Verde who are each on seven points. Cameroon opens up against bottom side Eswatini in South Africa on March 19 before hosting Libya on March 25.

  • The group winner qualifies for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

  • Four of the nine group runners-up qualify for a playoff to determine Africa's representative at the intercontinental qualifying playoff.

Placed into a relatively weak group, the March fixtures are an excellent opportunity for the squad led by captain Vincent Aboubakar to put distance between themselves and the rest of their competition. The biggest threat to Cameroon's qualification hopes are Lusophone nations Angola and Cape Verde, who face each other during this window and could obstruct each other's efforts to gain ground on the group leaders.

Coach Brys will welcome back Bryan Mbeumo who continues to be one of the most in form forwards in the English Premier League with Brentford (15 goals in 28 league matches). Aboubakar's form has been rather indifferent with Turkish club Hatayspor but the veteran leader always shows his best with Cameroon. Toulouse striker Frank Magri offers another strong option, arriving after scoring in each of his last three Ligue 1 matches.

Another Premier League star, Carlos Baleba, arrives to headling the midfield along with Napoli's André-Frank Zambo Anguissa. In the defense, experience is the theme with 34-year-old Michael Ngadeu-Ngadjui joining the likes of fellow central defender Christopher Wooh and Manchester United goalkeeper André Onana.
