Sudan national team coach James Kwesi Appiah has named his final squad to face Senegal and South Sudan in the 2026 FIFA World Cup African zone qualifiers. The Ghanaian tactician summoned most of the players from Omdurman giants Al Hilal and Al Merrikh.
Appiah used a friendly game against Oman to make final cuts while trimming the roster to 27 players. The national side began its preparation in Taif, Saudi Arabia in late February. Influential defender Ramadan Agab and his Merrikh compatriots Youssef Ali Fajr, goalkeeper Ahmed Peter El-Fatih and Khamis Bakhit retained their spot in the national side.
Most of the players were either involved in the successful 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualification campaigns for the Falcons of Jediane.

Team captain and star striker Mohamed Abdelrahman will lead the attack for Appiah. The Al Hilal forward scored seven league goals in Mauritania's top flight Super D1 as the Sudanese giants are competing in the West African nation due to the ongoing civil war.
Yasser Mozamel is also summoned up for the qualifiers after an impressive display in the CAF Champions League with Hilal.
As expected, newcomers Amar Abdallah and Jemal Ali are dropped from the final list. The Australian based duo were second half substitutes in the warm up game against Oman but failed to make it to the final cut. French born 18-year-old Basel Al-Qasim has also been dropped.
A few players from the Libyan league have been summoned as well for the qualifiers. Sudan tops Group B with 10 points as they lock horns against second placed Senegal and neighbors South Sudan in Benghazi, Libya.
