Guinea national side team head coach Michel Dussuyer has named a 23 players squad to face Somalia and Uganda in the 2026 FIFA World Cup African qualifier. The French coach summoned Ibrahima Sory Bangoura for the first time and dropped Spain based midfielder Ilaix Moriba from his squad.

Genk midfielder Bangoura gets a call up after his superb performance with the Jupiler Pro League leaders. He made 24 appearances in the topflight as he was noticed by Dussuyer to join the Syli Nationale. The national side also included in form striker Serhou Guirassy, Montpellier defender Issiaga Sylla and the energetic midfielder Abdoulaye Toure of Le Havre.

Dussuyer opted against calling Moriba to his roster. The La Masia graduate is overlooked by the coach for the first time in a year. Nantes center back Saido Sow also asked to be left out of the national side due to personal reasons. Mohammed Bayo is also another absentee after his transfer to Belgium. Hafia FC custodian Mory Keita is the only local based player in the squad.

Guinea will host Somalia in Ivory Coast on March 21 before taking on Uganda in Kampala four days later. Guinea are fourth in Group G with six points, three points shy of leaders Algeria. The group also consists of Mozambique and Botswana.
